About Us

Why I Started

After spending years building my career in the fast-paced, highly digital world of growth marketing, I found myself craving a creative outlet that was entirely tangible. I spent my days analyzing screen data, but I wanted to make things you could actually hold in your hands.

When Kiara came along, I started looking for specific, whimsical room decor and safe, engaging sensory toys. When I couldn't find exactly what I was picturing in stores, I realized I could just build it myself. What started as a late-night hobby—designing avocado lamps and mechanical fidgets—quickly grew into Kiuie Studio. It became a way to merge my love for technology with the joy of creating physical, functional art that brings a little magic into everyday life.

How the Magic Happens (The 3D Printing Process)

If you have never seen 3D printing in action, it is essentially a process of building objects from the ground up, one microscopic layer at a time.

I start by designing a concept digitally using sculpting software, or by using my 3D scanner to capture the exact geometry of real-world objects. Once the digital blueprint is perfect, I send it to my Bambu Lab P2S printer. The machine heats a spool of solid plastic wire until it melts, and then acts like a highly precise, robotic hot glue gun. It draws the shape of the design layer by layer, building upward until the final object is complete. Because my setup includes an Automatic Material System, the printer can seamlessly swap between different colors on the fly, creating vibrant, multi-colored designs without requiring any paint.

Materials Matter

Because these items are going into your homes—and often into the hands of kids—the quality and safety of the materials are my top priority. I strictly print with two specific types of thermoplastics:

  • PLA (Polylactic Acid): This is my go-to material for our ambient lamps and decorative pieces. Unlike traditional petroleum-based plastics, PLA is a bioplastic derived from renewable plant resources like corn starch and sugarcane. It is odorless, safe, and allows for absolutely gorgeous finishes. I love working with soft matte textures, high-shine silks, and beautiful pastel palettes to get that perfect aesthetic.

  • PETG: For items that need a bit more durability and flexibility—like our mechanical fidgets and tactile sensory objects—I use PETG. It is incredibly strong, impact-resistant, and can handle being dropped, clicked, and carried around all day.

Every piece that leaves the studio is printed slowly and carefully to ensure the layers bond perfectly, resulting in a beautiful, durable piece of functional art.
